Clearinghouse CDFI (CCDFI) provided $9,907,500 in refinancing to the Minna Project for a repurposed property for affordable transitional housing units.
The Minna Project (MP) is a transitional housing program for justice-involved adults with a history of substance use and/or mental illness. MP also provides onsite supportive services including behavioral healthcare. The program is a partnership between the San Francisco Adult Probation Department, the San Francisco Department of Public Health, Westside Community Services, and Positive Directions Equals Change. Funds provided by CCDFI allow MP to refinance a repurposed hotel into transitional housing units. The property, known as Minna Street Hotel, is complete with 73 guestrooms, a manager’s office, 3 hotel desk offices, and associated common areas.
This Minna Project works to mitigate barriers to reentry while safely reducing the jail population. This project expands access to transitional housing and behavioral health services to support the needs of justice-involved adults.
