$570,000 in Financing Facilitates Rehabilitation of Behavioral Support Home for California Children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

Bay Area Housing Corporation – Watsonville, CA

Clearinghouse CDFI provided $570,000 in financing for a single-story home that will serve as an enhanced behavioral support home for children affected by intellectual and developmental disabilities.

With over 250,000 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities earning less than 12% of the average median income in the San Francisco Bay area, many are without affordable housing. This project will provide a home-like environment for children facing these challenges. Specialized staff, consultation, and safety measures to meet individual needs will be available in the home.

Bay Area Housing Corporation (BAHC) is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. BAHC acts as a voice throughout the State and the community for their housing needs. They have been developing affordable quality homes for these individuals in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area since 2003.
