Gateway Towne Center is a retail shopping center located in a severely distressed area of Compton, CA with a high unemployment rate. The center provides the surrounding community with quality national retailers that are otherwise too distant.
Clearinghouse CDFI provided $21.4 million of New Markets Tax Credit allocation to bring a vital retail center to a blighted community.
This project will create 412 full time positions and drive economic opportunity in a distressed neighborhood.
