Clearinghouse CDFI (CCDFI) provided $5,250,000 in financing for the renovation and conversion of a former hotel into the “My Home at Macon” affordable housing complex in Macon, GA.
“It’s hard to afford a good place to live,” noted Mike Austin of the Macon Housing Authority, emphasizing the crucial need for projects like this in the community. The renovated complex will feature 60 studio apartments and 35 one-bedroom units, with 50% of the units designated as affordable at 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). The community will benefit from community amenities including full kitchens in every unit, upgraded bathrooms, new flooring, and enhanced communal spaces such as a fitness room, swimming pool, and an on-site restaurant. Financing provided by CCDFI supports the transformation of 130 hotel units into 95 multifamily residential units, catering to the local workforce housing needs.
My Home Studios converts existing hotels into affordable one-bedroom apartments that combine comfort with functionality. With every unit fully renovated to meet high standards, My Home Studios sets a new benchmark in workforce accommodation.
