Clearinghouse CDFI (CCDFI) is pleased to continue working with Youth Development, Inc (YDI) to support the children of Albuquerque. With a $268,000 loan provided by CCDFI, YDI is acquiring a single-family home to be used as a temporary shelter for children in crisis.
In 2020, New Mexico had an estimated 4,177 children in out-of-home care with a significant proportion requiring temporary shelter due to abuse or neglect. To address this issue, Youth Development, Inc. is providing a temporary crisis shelter in Albuquerque. CCDFI has provided $286,000 in financing to YDI to acquire a 3-bedroom, 2-bath single-family residence with a 2-car garage, which will be converted into office-storage space. YDI will use this property to provide crisis shelter for youth aged 12-17 who are in the custody of the Children, Youth and Families Department of Child Protective Services.
