When Oscar Jimenez Perez’s father got injured and needed help providing for the family, Oscar didn’t bat an eye. He immediately became determined to help out whenever he was not studying. This kind of tenacity comes natural to Oscar and is exactly why Clearinghouse CDFI is proud to introduce him as one of our 2023 Spring ‘B’ BOLD(ER) interns.
Oscar is a junior at California State University – Fullerton. He looks forward to working in the financial world upon graduation. In his free time, Oscar is very active. He spends a lot of time walking, running, and playing soccer and basketball.
Oscar discovered the ‘B’ BOLD(ER) through SteppingUP OCCHC, a non-profit organization who works to transition extremely low-income families to greater self-sufficiency with housing and education. SteppingUP OCCHC provides advisors to the youth of these families to assist them in obtaining the same education benefits as those from more affluent neighborhoods.
Being selected for the ‘B’ BOLD(ER) internship program means everything to Oscar. He is humbled to have an opportunity to grow as an individual in his career and only made him more excited about working in finance. He hopes to gain industry knowledge while he participates in the program as well as connect with others and learn from their experience. Oscar aims to take the skills he obtains from Clearinghouse CDFI and apply them to real life situations in the future.
